When the lighthouse broke

The world crashed and sank

Detritus on the rocks

And the screams of the condemned

Join with the howling of the gale

When the lighthouse broke

There was only the darkness

Of despair and death

Hopelessness and futility

Shall we stand on the edge of the world

And face the abyss together

And join our small flickering lights

Into something greater than ourselves

Collectively, a guide through the storm

A beacon for hope, for safety

As we wait for the dawn

When the lighthouse broke

We realised it was time

To build a better lighthouse
