We never know their names
We never see their faces
We don’t know who they are or where they live
but they are all around us
Anonymous, hiding in plain sight
Saving lives and saving souls
Mending bruises and mending hearts
Making peace, making love
Holding lamps in the darkness
so others can see their way
Creating calm in the eye of the storm
They will never be in your newspaper
You won’t see them on the tv
Let us celebrate the nameless
who are known to no one
except God
and God will pour out on them
all the blessings of eternity.
