When I see a rainbow halo around the setting moon

I like to think that God is playing with His paint box

drawing circles of colours to delight His creation

Like when I see long streaks of cloud on a sunny day

He is finger painting across the sky

When sun sets through cloud

all the reds and pinks, oranges and purples

get opened up and spread out

for a colour-filled display that is never the same twice

And when clear water mirrors the world

Well, then God is giving us the daily gift twice over

But rainbows especially, we don’t see it

but they’re always full circles

Perfect circuits of perfect colour

The Lord shows us how

He paints for us the true essence of Light
