What is truth?

Everyone’s got a different answer

We should be kind to those who are kind to us

We should shun those who are unhappy, lest they make us unhappy

we should not care about the displaced, the homeless, the sick

We should look after our own

 

What is truth? said the governor

perplexed by the supposed criminal, the so-called King of the Jews

not waiting for a response, he went to the accusers

Knowing no crime had been committed.

 

What is truth? ask the scholars

and embark on philosophical musings

moral relativism rearing its head

everyone doing their own thing

 

What is truth? asks every one of us

and the lamb of God answers

Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, take care of the sick

Love God, and love your neighbour
