They said I made mistakes, and I believed them.

They whispered behind my back, and I believed them

They judged and pointed fingers, and I believed them.

 

She said I was fantastic.

They said I was no good.

Why did I believe them?

 

Why do we believe what we believe?

What forms us and shapes us?

A lifetime of rejection

A world full of lies

 

Leading to the inevitable conclusion

She didn’t mean it

They meant every word
