Do you ever notice, as you trudge through your life

With aching bones all that hold together a broken, bleeding heart

That you’re surrounded

On every side are other cold, old skeletons

Dripping blood from shattered lives

Did you ever realise that it’s really quite smart

To recoil in horror from a world gone mad

And anyone who tells you otherwise

Is playing make believe

I’ll tell you a secret

You can’t heal your own wounds

But you might, if you reach out

Heal someone else

Maybe, if you’re lucky

Someone else might reach out to you

Link by link, our fragile shells

Become stronger in unity
