We celebrate normality

Steady people with steady jobs

Steady opinions, steady habits

Steady people make the world go round

The abnormal, now, that’s different

Ones who need looking after

Ones who can’t cope

Who don’t conform, don’t fit

Who march to their own beat

Sing their own song

Troubling, inexplicable, antisocial

It’s just too hard to reach them

Easier to  just turn away

But what are the normal ones missing

A vision of the world that is shiny and new

An eye that sees clearly the rights and the wrongs

A heart that wonders what if, what if

We could remake a flawed world

What if we could find a new and better normal

Embrace the unusual ones, the outliers

Blessed be the atypical, the anomalies

Who fill the world with colour

For after all

Who says what’s normal anyway?
