They drew great pictures on the ground
Carefully charted, calculated accurately
Too large for mortal eyes to understand
But these were not for humdrum men
These were for the gods
Looking down from their lofty thrones
on men like insects scurrying about
decorating the earth to show the divine
that they understood, they were listening.
The wise ones told the people
That the gods could see all
That the gods knew
The world is music, harmony of the cosmos
It was important to show them
The people knew, the people believed
The people in tune, in song and dance
With the symphony of the land
So they crafted their pictures
And told to the heavens
The story of their faith.
